Bad news and good news

Momma here

Well there's good news and bad news.

First the bad news:
Callie has stage three lymphoma. It is a very aggressive fast moving cancer. Putting it lightly my husband and I are devastated. We are pursuing options for chemotherapy and despite the fact that this cancer is very treatable the life expectancy with this type of cancer is about a year. We plan on making whatever time she has left the best possible. Right now she is on prednisone, which helps the appetite and the fatigue.

Now the good news:
Thursday morning was Droopy's appointment with the eye doctor. Surprising news: Droopy does NOT have cataracts!!!!!!!! She suffers necrosclorosis (I know it's not spelled right sorry), which is a hardening of the lens in the eye and can mimic cataracts. She has to do a twice yearly trip to the eye doctor and is on a moisturizing eye drop, an anti-inflammatory eye drop, and an ointment for her eyes.

Please continue with your prayers and good vibes because they are greatly appreciated!!!! I am now so happy I started this blog because I know it will be of great support in the coming months!!!!!

If any puppies have advice to share about lymphoma or cancer we would be very thankful for it.

Sniff ya later,
Momma, Dad, Droopy and Callie

  1. That is scary news about Callie. Some difficult decisions ahead of you about treatment. I hope that other bloggers who have been through the same thing will respond.

Great news on Droopy! Although those eye treatments will get old for both of you, it is a small price to pay to retain her vision.
